Dr. Hanne Blank is an U.S.-focused historian of gender and sexuality who incorporates history of medicine, bioethics, and embodiment studies into her historical work. She received her Ph.D. in History from Emory University. Her books include Straight: The Surprisingly Short History of Heterosexuality (Beacon Press, 2014) and Virgin: The Untouched History (Bloomsbury, 2007). She currently serves on the faculty of Denison University.
